We are preparing to leave for Cru’s Staff Conference in Colorado. This is held every two years, in mid-July, at Colorado State University. I compare it to running a long race.
When I ran a half-marathon last year, the race organizers did not assume all the runners could get through the 13.1 miles happily on their own. They stationed volunteers every block or so to cheer for us. They provided water and timers almost every mile. I had prepared for the race by practicing, but the resources provided made the race a lot easier. The organizers hoped we would sign up to run it again.
Like the race organizers, the conference organizers want to aid and encourage the staff. Many have been there since the beginning of June. Please pray the resources, the talks, and the strategies presented will be effective in encouraging and motivating for the U. S. Campus Crusade staff members who come. Pray also for us as we make the arrangements to travel.
