Shared Leadership

Our ministry, Campus Crusade for Christ International, is structuring the leadership so it is shared more by a group and less from a total “top-down” structure. The group are leaders in a certain area of expertise (Student Ministries, City Ministries as well as Human Resources, Finance, Technical, and Operations).

This style of leadership requires a culture change.  It also requires leaders who may not have been considered leaders before. For example, the Technical and Operations experts may not have been involved in ministry decisions before.

The Global Technology Office (GTO), where 20 of us serve, has several computer tools. We are also committed to provide leadership training to the Global Operations team. We are trying to train and equip operations leaders in every country and area of the world. see

Stefan Dell started out maintaining the computers and finances in South Africa. He received help in taking on Operations leadership responsibilities. Now as the head of GTO, he reports to the Vice President of Global Operations.

As the GCX Advisors Team (4 of us) writes goals for the next 6 months, we are looking for ways we can train and equip operations leaders outside of the U.S. and Canada.
