Julia participated in a mission trip to Costa Rica with her school July 17-25. They started preparing for the trip before the end of the school year. They wrote their personal testimonies, practiced skits that didn’t need dialogue, etc. She enjoys acting in plays, but performing to a different culture was a stretch. She learned that even when you prepare, you have to flex and improvise. Here is Julia reading a Bible Story (in Spanish) to a mixed group of Americans and Costa Ricans. The story was supposed to be performed behind her, but the actors all had kids sitting in their laps!
Julia started her Junior year in high school 2 weeks ago. Already she landed a part in the next play. She is taking Spanish III and said she might want to return to Costa Rica. Please pray she can process what God wants her to do as a result of her mission trip.
