George and Lisset Phillips are Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC) missionaries in Santiago, Chile. George is the national director of Campus ministries, and Lisset serves in human resources for the national office. They have a daughter Brianna and just had another daughter Matilda on November 5.
On a windy autumn night last April, a fire swept through the hills of Valparaiso, 72 miles away, killing 12 people and destroying 2500 homes. It was the worst fire in 500 years. When relief workers came, George’s campus team as well as other volunteers ministered to many of the displaced families trying to make it through winter.
Like many leaders, George is busy! Chile does not have a large staff team, so George wears many hats. In addition to building and sending disciples in the campus ministry, he also has many clerical duties.
Our team is helping missionary leaders like the Phillips family to be more effective in ministry by providing tools, training, and accurate ministry data. We are helping with the administrative side of ministry so they have more time on the field.
