Our ministry has 2 parts:
The first is what we feel we have been called to. For me it is helping people understand how to use technology for ministry. For Holly it is helping leaders be effective; specifically it is helping Vonette Bright the co-founder of Campus Crusade for Christ.
The second is developing a healthy team of partners who is praying for us and investing in the ministry. Over the years we have built relationships with literally hundreds of people through the process of them supporting our ministry. Many we would consider our friends, and we would not have known them otherwise.
The God Ask by Steve Shadrach is written for the missionary trying to build and maintain his team of ministry partners. It would also be for a mission or church leader trying to help his new missionaries on their way to full funding. Mr. Shadrach describes the Biblical background for raising support, how to describe your vision for ministry, and practical ways to invite others to join your vision. Much of it is about building relationships. I am reading through it now and highly recommend it as I work toward finding the partners to fully-fund our ministry.
Mr. Shadrach is the Executive Director for the Center for Mission Mobilization (CMM). The God Ask is endorsed by fundraising coaches from several mission organizations including Cru.
