I (David) just returned from a 10-day business trip to Peoria, IL and St. Louis, MO. I was meeting with people and driving a lot. These pictures sort of illustrate the bad and good of the trip.
The first picture was taken on a lonely road between friends’ homes. I was missing my wife & children and was emotionally exhausted. It felt like I was driving through the shadow of death (near Mt. Pulaski, IL).
The second is one of the 2 homes in which I stayed. In both places my friends were very welcoming, and encouraged me to stay there even though their lives could be described as “orderly chaos.” Both homes were warm and friendly and full of life. This one happened to be getting remodeled. I mostly used the back door because the front steps were not there until day 8.
Before leaving on this trip, I asked a few people to pray for me, and sent them specific requests every 2 days. Their prayers really helped me to stay focused on what is good, acceptable, and perfect .
