Starting School Year with a Hurricane

For the last several weeks, Cru campus staff members have been praying for the new school year. They are connecting with the student leaders to help plan recruiting, outreaches, and discipleship strategies. The Cru17 conference, as well as other training over the summer, equipped the staff members with the latest tools and strategies.

For the University of Houston, their Cru school year started with outreach by necessity. Classes started August 21 the day of the eclipse. Then Hurricane Harvey hit Houston and the university was closed Aug 25-Sept 5 because of flooding. Several students in Cru used their time to help with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts (see photos and Instagram #uhcru).

Please pray for Cru as well as other ministries and churches around Houston who need to continue helping with physical needs but not neglect spiritual needs as well.
