South Africa Operations Conference

Every 18 months the Operations leaders from around the world get together. This time it was in South Africa. I was able to participate in the meetings specifically for the technology leaders– the people I am trying to serve. All of us were working toward solving technology challenges to finish reaching the world with the gospel.

Kurt Burgherr is the Director of Operations for Western Europe. (The photo is from agapeeurope.org.)

As hoped, I was able to meet with Kurt from Switzerland. He outlined some very specific needs that Agape Europe has. (Campus Crusade for Christ is called Agape in Western Europe).

Trent and May are Americans serving on the Agape France technology team. They have been great to work with on translation projects as well.  France is pioneering several ministry tools for the rest of Europe.

I also met Ronald who serves in an Asian country. I had worked with him on translation projects, but had not met him face-to-face before. Soon after returning, my team in Orlando started participating more in helping country teams (in Cru) transition from personal emails to a corporate Google suite of tools. Ronald was the point person for his country, and our meeting face-to-face in South Africa seems to be helping with trust during the Google video conference meetings.

This is a group photo of the technology leaders in South Africa. (On the top row, Trent is 3rd from the left, I am 4th from the left and Ronald is on the far right). Several were from “secure” parts of the world so their faces were blanked.
