What’s New

  • I like it Black, but not like my Dad’s coffee…

I am slowly becoming addicted to coffee. Holly argues that one cup a day doesn’t mean “addicted”. I have tried enough blends and roasts to say confidently what I like and what I don’t like. What is interesting is how much emotion is attached to a cup of coffee. The “aha” came to me when…

  • Thank you for Being a part of our Ministry

Thank you for your prayers and support of our ministry. Here’s a 2-minute video that gives a big-picture perspective of what we do. click Here

  • Office “Kairos Days”

Every year we in the Global Technology Office (GTO) stop and reflect on what we did and what we want to do. “Kairos” is a Greek word roughly meaning “at the right moment”. GTO, with members usually scattered around the world, makes an effort to be in these meetings. We are always trying to adapt…

  • Training in Rio

Latin America Campus Crusade has plans to expand their campus ministry using “virtual” tools. Karin and I were invited to Rio de Janeiro to train our staff how to use the Global ConneXion (GCX). The day started out with a lot of questions. The excitement grew as they started planning and building GCX websites. Here…

  • Lamb for Easter

Holly made Lamb cupcakes for her friend’s 2nd grade class. I’m not sure if the students understood what Jesus meant when he said he was the “Lamb of God”. They did understand chocolate cake and marshmallows!

  • Reconnecting after 27 years

Holly spent one of her college years studying in France. Her host family lives near Grenoble. Holly was able to reconnect with her “mother” last September, and had a great time. Her host “sister” contacted Holly soon after that and setup a time to visit our family. We are having a nice time this week…

  • 28 Trained–only 2400 to Go

At the end of January, 3 of my teammates Mark, Kay and Karin traveled to Ghana and Kenya to “train the trainers” in the launch of a mobile phone-based Bible leadership project. The team trained 28 church leaders from 10 African countries! The leaders from West Africa are pictured below, proudly holding certificates of achievement.…

  • Doughnut Birthday Cake

About 22 years ago, Holly worked with JoAnne who prayed every day for a doughnut. Often she would end up with one. God even answers silly prayers sometimes. Today is JoAnne’s birthday. I cannot imagine she prayed for this cake!

  • Got to Monitor GCX Migration

Last weekend (Feb 18-19) GCX was migrated to a new server–different city, different company. I was able to monitor progress with my colleagues and tweet updates from @gcxhelp. The migration seemed to go well, though slow. The benefits of this migration include more bandwidth at lower cost.
